Profile Summary

Dr. Priya Johari joined Physics department of Shiv Nadar University in 2012. She obtained her Ph.D. degree in Physics from I.I.T. Bombay in 2006 and master degree in physics from Jai Narain Vyas University, at Jodhpur, Rajasthan, in 2001. Just after submitting her Ph.D. synopsis, she joined as a post-doctoral research assistant at University of Leoben, Austria (2006-2008) in the Department of Material Science. Between 2008-2009, she worked in the Department of Physics at I.I.T. Bombay as a post-doctoral research associate, and later (2009-2011) she worked as post-doctoral research associate at the Brown University, Providence, Rhode Island, USA. Dr. Johari has major interest in studying materials which hold promising applications in enhancing the technology in the field of opto-electronics, space, energy storage/generation, biomedical, defense, and space. This includes rational designing of novel materials and extensive study of the known potential materials and their properties, as well as search for possible methods to tune their properties. The interdisciplinary nature of this study will be useful in bridging several research areas like condensed matter physics, quantum chemistry, energy science, material science, nano-science and technology, and bio-science and technology. She has published 26 articles in peer reviewed journals and has presented her work in several national and international conferences.
