Investigations of Multiferroic Ceramics

The aim of this project is to obtain amplified multiferroic response in layered perovskite ceramics. Layered perovskites are very popular oxide materials where structure distortions/lattice strain parameters play an important role in determining capacitor and transducer applications. Caged octahedrons tilt to respond tailored phase transitions and make materials more sensitive at lower temperatures and pressures. We are targeting to prepare nano materials in powdered as well as thin film geometries to obtain best simultaneous display of spin exchange interaction and offsetting of electric polarization.
